Students will launch the STEAM film project by analyzing sample media, hearing from stakeholders, learning the core expectations for interview-driven storytelling, and producing an initial evidence-based concept direction with assumptions and next-step research priorities.

Students will gather and analyze direct user evidence from STEAM teachers, grade 11-12 students, and community technology partners; translate that evidence into interview plans, observation tools, and empathy artifacts; and narrow a research-based story focus with documented assumptions to verify before filming.
Days 3 - 8

Ideate & Prototype
Students will turn interview and observation evidence into a focused design brief for the STEAM overview film, generate and test multiple concept directions, build low-fidelity prototypes, and complete two documented revision cycles based on feedback from peers, teachers, students, and community partners before selecting a direction for the next phase.

Revise & Showcase
Students will refine their selected STEAM film concept into a polished prototype, improve pacing and audio using structured critique, validate clarity and accuracy with stakeholders, and prepare a concise presentation that traces how user evidence shaped final editing decisions and next-step recommendations.

Showcase
Showcase
Students will present their completed STEAM overview film and looping exhibition cut to authentic audiences, gather and respond to live feedback, and complete a final evidence-based reflection on how user research, critique, and revision shaped their production choices.
