Scavenger Question
Students will investigate how exercise affects the heart, lungs, and muscles by gathering clues from body-system models, noticing changes during movement, and turning their wonderings into a shared investigation question. They will practice using pulse and breathing tools, draft a simple hypothesis, and create a class measurement plan they can carry into the next phase.

Students will measure pulse and breathing before and after different movements with support from the gym teacher, record observations in journals and shared evidence charts, compare results across activities, and complete a mid-project quality check to strengthen accuracy before moving into analysis.

Analyze & Present
Students will analyze their pulse, breathing, and muscle evidence from earlier investigations, turn findings into charts and labeled drawings, revise explanations through peer feedback, update the class evidence poster, and complete a visual science poster that prepares them to share clear conclusions at the Heartbeat Expo.

Showcase
Students will present their final body-system findings to an authentic audience at the Heartbeat Expo, use charts and labeled visuals to explain how exercise affects the heart, lungs, and muscles, and complete a brief reflection on what their evidence showed and how their ideas changed.
