Students will analyze evidence from The Giver and a policy-maker Q&A, sort supporting and challenging examples about fairness and rule-making, and build a claims-and-evidence outline with warrants and counterevidence that prepares them for revision and public argument.

Rehearse Fair Defense
Students will stress-test their fairness arguments through book club critique, revise their evidence-based speaking points and citations, rehearse a one-minute claim and rule proposal, defend their ideas under questioning, and capture how their thinking changed before the Fairness Forum.
Days 9 - 11
Showcase
Showcase
Students will present their final fairness arguments and recorded panel responses to an authentic audience at the Fairness Forum, respond to questions about evidence and rule-making, and complete a brief reflection on how their thinking changed through book club discussion, critique, and civic comparison.
