Students rotate through a gallery-style Fairness Forum in which book club groups play their recorded panel response, deliver individual one-minute fair rule claims, and answer sticky-note or live questions from guests, classmates, and the city council or school board partner. Each student also posts a final rule proposal card that cites The Giver and the policy Q&A, then records a brief exit audio reflection on how a character’s choices, peer critique, and public feedback shaped their final position. The teacher uses a performance rubric to score the live claim and final rule proposal as the culminating checkpoint for the project.
