🎙️ Fairness Claim Warm-Up

Students use a CER speaking organizer to draft and present a one-minute claim answering what makes a society fair and who should help decide rules, using one detail from The Giver and one example from the rule sort. In triads, students give feedback to 2 peers, receive feedback, and revise by checking for a clear claim, relevant evidence, and reasoning instead of summary or opinion alone. Students close with a brief audio reflection on how a character's choice in The Giver connects to their current thinking and participation goals for book club discussions.
