Students will launch the sweatshirt fundraiser challenge, learn how decimal costs and profit connect to real merchandise decisions, gather user and expert input, and create an early empathy-based design brief that captures customer preferences, price concerns, and teamwork goals.

Define
Students will sort empathy evidence from Phase 1, learn how to write a clear problem statement using user needs and project constraints, define a target customer group for the sweatshirt fundraiser, and create a team design brief that names the pricing challenge they will solve next.
Days 5 - 8
Draft
Draft
Students will turn their selected sweatshirt ideas into first-round prototypes and pricing drafts by applying decimal operations, user feedback, and team decision-making. They will build cost models, create labeled design mockups, explain their pricing logic, and revise after structured peer critique so they are ready for user testing in the next phase.
