Students will launch the Día de los Muertos investigation by examining family photos and memory artifacts, building initial understanding of the tradition’s history and meanings, and generating respectful questions that will guide later research, reflection, and design work for the community altar, photos, and posters.

Students will study family photos, stories, and historical examples to generate respectful investigation questions about Día de los Muertos, test those questions with peers, and co-create a simple evidence plan with a hypothesis and shared record before beginning deeper research.
Days 2 - 4

Analyze & Share
Students will sort and analyze evidence from family photos, interviews, and research notes; identify patterns and limits in what they found; revise altar and poster plans through peer feedback; and prepare clear, respectful exhibit explanations for the community showcase.
Days 5 - 7
Showcase
Showcase
Students will present their Día de los Muertos community altar, family photo display, and research posters to families, students, and community partners, explain their findings with respectful evidence-based language, and complete a brief reflection on how their investigation and collaboration shaped the final exhibition.
