🕯️ Family Photo Gallery Walk

Students begin with a respectful gallery walk using copied family photos, short family stories, symbolic images, and brief teacher-selected visuals about Día de los Muertos. The teacher guides a short read-aloud and discussion connecting remembrance, Indigenous roots, colonization, and modern cultural practices. Students then share a drawing, oral response, or brief age-appropriate written reflection about someone or something they want to remember, and mixed-age partners help generate one class investigation question on a sticky note for the project wonder board.
