Days 1 - 6
Investigate
Students will systematically gather, evaluate, and organize credible evidence for and against their chosen renewable energy solution, using digital tools to analyze data and prepare for evidence-based argument construction.
Days 7 - 16
Construct
Students will construct, critique, and revise a fully developed evidence-based argument selecting wind or solar energy for a specific Michigan community. They will strengthen logical structure, integrate quantitative data visualizations, engage seriously with counterarguments, and refine their writing through structured peer critique and a mastery checkpoint before moving to public defense.
Days 17 - 28
Defend
Students will publicly defend their renewable energy position using evidence, respond to challenges from peers and professionals, revise based on critique, and reflect on how their thinking evolved from initial claim to final defense.
