Students will launch the school-wide mosaic project by exploring hands-on idea stations, studying how mosaics communicate meaning, and generating first theme sketches that connect personal identity to school community. They will set shared goals for how individual pieces can contribute to one larger artwork and prepare for user-centered research in the next phase.

Students will gather evidence from school community members, observe shared spaces, and turn quotes, drawings, and noticing into an empathy map that defines what a meaningful school-wide mosaic should communicate for many different people.

Students will turn school community research into a shared design brief, generate multiple mosaic directions, use peer and audience-centered criteria to select one concept, and prepare a low-fidelity test plan for the next phase.

Students will build and test low-fidelity mosaic piece prototypes, gather feedback from school community users, revise through two documented iteration cycles, and prepare a stakeholder-facing presentation that shows how user evidence shaped their final design direction.

Students will install the completed school mosaic for an authentic audience, explain how their individual piece contributes to the larger design, and reflect on how their ideas changed from first sketch to finished artwork through a brief artist statement or audio recording.
