Students will launch the Weather Watchers investigation by observing local weather with their senses and simple tools, comparing today to yesterday, sorting first-day weather evidence, and sharing questions they will investigate during the week.

Students will sort weather evidence by attributes, use simple tools to compare today’s weather to yesterday’s, revise their ideas through partner feedback, and prepare evidence for the class weather chart and weather book page.

Students will present their weather evidence to an authentic audience through a live Weather Report TV share and gallery walk, then demonstrate what they learned by explaining a weather pattern, a sort, and a comparison using the class chart, tool station, drawings, and weather book pages.
