Days 1 - 6
Define
Students will collaboratively identify the key goals and outcomes of their pollination research project, developing a shared understanding and rationale for why studying plant-pollinator relationships is essential, setting the stage for purposeful exploration and inquiry.
Days 7 - 12
Ideate
Students will brainstorm and sketch potential ideas for their research boards, gather and synthesize insights from peers and community partners, and collaboratively envision the most innovative ways to explore plant and pollinator relationships.
Days 13 - 18
Draft
Students will draft outlines and sketches for their pollinator research boards, creating visual and textual representations of their research to design a blueprint for their final project, while receiving and integrating peer feedback to refine their ideas.
Days 19 - 24
Test
Students will test their understanding of various plants and pollinators by engaging in interactive experiments, analyzing data through hands-on activities, and utilizing technology to showcase the purpose and impact of their research on pollination processes.
Days 25 - 30
Critique
Students will engage in structured peer critique sessions to provide thoughtful feedback on each other's research boards, refine their presentations, and prepare for the final showcase by implementing constructive insights into their projects.
Days 31 - 35
Notice & Reflect
Students will engage in guided reflection sessions to notice the impact of their research decisions and teamwork throughout the project, predict how these insights apply to future learning, and prepare to share their growth journey during a peer presentation and family engagement event.
