Detect Patterns
Detect Patterns
Students will investigate how area models, partial products, and the standard algorithm show the same place-value ideas, then choose a focused question, form a hypothesis, and build a peer-checkable evidence plan for comparing multiplication methods with matching problems and clear success criteria.
Days 2 - 5
Analyze And Share
Analyze And Share
Students will analyze evidence from matched multiplication problems, compare methods with visual displays and math language, revise explanations through peer critique, and prepare a polished demonstration that shows how the standard algorithm connects to area models and partial products.
Days 6 - 9
Showcase
Showcase
Students will present their multiplication investigation findings at Fluency Fest, explain how area models, partial products, and the standard algorithm connect, demonstrate fluency with key problem types, gather audience and peer feedback, and complete a final reflection portfolio entry about strategy choice, accuracy, and growth.
