You will conduct hands-on research by engaging with community members affected by ICE, listening to their stories and experiences to gather information for designing your quilt honoring their narratives.
Days 1 - 3
Define
You will gather and analyze stories from ICE victims and affected communities to distill their experiences into a clear problem statement that will guide the conceptual design of your quilt.
Days 4 - 6
Ideate
You will brainstorm and sketch multiple quilt designs, drawing inspiration from your research and collected narratives, to explore different ways to visually represent the impact of ICE on communities, while collaborating with peers and mentors to refine your ideas.
Days 7 - 10
Prototype
You will create a small-scale visual model of your quilt incorporating initial sewing techniques and personal testimonies, inviting feedback from peers, quilting mentors, and community members to refine its design and impact.
