Launch
Students will launch the movie poster design challenge by analyzing how posters persuade viewers, trying out tagline and teaser ideas, and setting up an audience-centered concept for later research and design work.
Days 1 - 2
Research & Plan
Students will study how movie posters persuade viewers, gather direct audience feedback, organize that evidence into an empathy artifact, and use it to complete an approved movie poster treatment and design brief before moving into Photoshop production.
Days 3 - 8
Ideate & Prototype
Students will turn audience research into a focused movie poster design challenge, generate multiple visual directions, test ideas with peers and an outside viewer, and build a simple Photoshop prototype that shows how feedback shaped their revisions.
Days 9 - 13
Refine & Present
Students will refine their movie poster in Photoshop, test it with a real viewer, revise using critique evidence, and prepare a concise presentation that shows how audience research shaped key design choices before submitting the final poster package.
Days 14 - 18
Showcase
Students will present their completed movie posters to an authentic audience, explain how audience research and revision shaped their design choices, gather final public feedback during Neon Premiere Night, and submit a finished poster package with a short artist statement and self-evaluation.
Days 19 - 20
