Students will launch the sky investigation by observing the moon and sky patterns, meeting a space partner, and beginning a shared wonder-and-evidence routine that will guide later research, notebook work, and product creation.

Students will investigate a puzzling sky pattern, sort observations from guesses, study examples of moon phases, constellations, and planet patterns, and work with classmates to turn wonderings into one focused investigable class question and a simple hypothesis. They will create an initial thinking map, start a shared evidence journal, and complete a checkpoint showing they can ask a testable question supported by observable sky evidence.

Students will co-design and test a simple investigation plan for observing sky patterns, choose clear ways to record evidence in notebooks and class charts, practice writing captions and number-pattern notes, and use peer and teacher feedback to revise their method before beginning full data collection.

Students will collect and document evidence about moon phases, constellations, and planets in their sky investigation notebooks, check the quality of their records with peers and the teacher, and turn their strongest observations into draft constellation guide entries with drawings, labels, captions, and number patterns.

Students will analyze their sky evidence, turn observations into clear patterns and explanations, revise their guide and mural work through peer feedback, and prepare evidence-based pieces for the Constellation Celebration Walk.

Students will share their constellation guide pages, sky-mapping mural sections, and audio or drawing reflections with families, school staff, and invited partners, then complete a final evidence-based reflection on how sky patterns helped them answer the project question.
