Empathize
Students will investigate how real viewers emotionally respond to close-up succulent imagery and color choices, gathering firsthand evidence through interviews and observation. They will document quotes and insights in structured empathy maps that will directly inform their problem statement in the next phase.
Day 1
Define
Students will synthesize their succulent painting user interviews and empathy maps into clear, evidence-based problem definitions that guide the design of their AR overlays, mural layout, and projection mapping experience.
Day 2
Ideate
Students will generate a wide range of user-centered concepts for their succulent mural installation, AR overlays, and projection mapping show, using structured ideation strategies before selecting and sketching top solutions grounded in real user evidence.
Day 3
Prototype
Students will build rapid, testable prototypes of their succulent painting AR and installation concepts, gather structured feedback from real users, and revise their designs to create a higher-fidelity version grounded in user evidence.
Day 4
No activities have been added to this phase yet.
Test/Present
Students will conduct a final round of user testing on their refined succulent paintings, AR overlays, and projection mapping sequences, then present their full design journey—from empathy interviews to iteration—to an authentic audience during the Blooming Perspectives installation. They will trace artistic and technical decisions back to specific user evidence and reflect on remaining gaps and next steps.
