Students will kick off the project by exploring hydroponics as a solution to food sustainability, define their challenge by discussing Earth's water cycle, and identify real-world constraints through the Sustainability Challenge Workshop, setting the foundation for their systems design.

Students will brainstorm innovative hydroponic design solutions by sketching ideas, discussing research findings on global systems, and predicting how to mimic Earth's water cycle driven by sunlight and gravity.

Students will collaboratively select a hydroponic system design from their brainstormed ideas, create a detailed blueprint incorporating the Earth's water cycle principles, and prepare materials needed to execute their plan in the next phase.
