Learning Goals
Students will be able to analyze exemplary media artworks to explain how multimodal composition, visual hierarchy, and communication systems shape persuasion and audience experience.
Students will be able to investigate a specific audience’s needs and perspectives to define an evidence-based persuasive communication challenge about a school or community issue.
Students will be able to apply ratios, scale, proportion, spatial constraints, and typographic grids to prototype and refine a persuasive media-art composition.
Students will be able to design and justify a coordinated presentation and distribution strategy across multiple media formats to influence a specific audience.
Products
Audience Research and Geometric Campaign Prototype Portfolio
Each student will analyze persuasive media examples, document audience evidence, define a communication challenge, and create an annotated prototype showing geometric calculations, narrative choices, proposed formats, distribution plans, feedback, and revisions. The portfolio will independently justify how the design could influence the intended audience to care about the selected issue.
Multiformat Persuasive Media-Art Campaign and Public Presentation
Teams will use members’ audience research and prototypes to produce a refined primary visual artwork plus two coordinated media formats built with intentional ratios, scale, grids, and spatial constraints. They will present or distribute the campaign to an authentic audience and explain how audience evidence, narrative, geometry, feedback, and media strategy informed the final design.
