Launch
Launch
Students will launch the musculoskeletal stop-motion project by analyzing real movement and injury scenarios, building shared content knowledge about tissue interactions and safe mechanics, and generating early film concepts that can be critiqued and revised before later investigation and production phases.
Days 1 - 2
Launch & Question
Launch & Question
Students will investigate a movement or injury case, analyze which tissues and forces are involved, and refine a focused question, hypothesis, and evidence plan that will guide their stop-motion biomechanics film.
Days 3 - 6
Plan & Storyboard
Plan & Storyboard
Students will turn their movement or injury question into an evidence-based production plan by refining tissue roles, sequencing muscle action, drafting a stop-motion storyboard and script, and revising their method after structured peer critique before filming begins.
Days 7 - 10
Analyze & Present
Analyze & Present
Students will complete and polish their stop-motion biomechanics films, analyze evidence from filming notes and expert input, create a one-page visual that explains patterns and injury-prevention implications, and defend their claims through critique, revision, and a scored presentation checkpoint before the final showcase.
Days 11 - 14
Showcase
Showcase
Students will present their finalized stop-motion biomechanics investigations to an authentic audience, defend their scientific reasoning in a live exhibit, and complete the culminating performance assessment using evidence from their film, visual, and revision history.
