My Kentucky Home Base Map Passport Page
Each student completes a passport page with a sketch of Kentucky as Home Base, a labeled route, and one or two sentences explaining what the map showed them. The page proves individual understanding of map vocabulary, symbols, and how maps help people figure out where they are and where they could go next.
Class Wall Map Investigation Display and Oral Explanation
In small teams, students add yarn routes, labels, and clue cards to the class wall map and present a short shared explanation of how the map helped them identify Home Base and trace a journey. The display must show each team member’s contribution and include one question or surprise observation the team noticed.
