Teams use their Phase 2 design brief, source bank, and cause-effect notes to sketch 3 genuinely different board game concepts on a concept template: one path-based game, one card/event-driven game, and one resource or role-based game. They compare each concept against player needs, historical accuracy, and how clearly the mechanic teaches consequences. The team selects one direction with a short decision matrix and identifies 2 assumptions to test in playtesting.
