Using a teacher-modeled WWII poster and a modern media example, students practice a close-reading routine for audience, purpose, tone, imagery, symbols, color theory, and misinformation clues. In pairs, they annotate one primary source and one secondary source, then compare how the sources reinforce, extend, or complicate each other. Students capture notes in a source-analysis organizer with paraphrased evidence and citation details they will reuse later.
