Students rotate through WWII posters, a wartime speech clip, a short historical text, current headlines, an ad, and a social post, sorting each message as informative, persuasive, or misleading and defending choices with evidence on a shared anchor chart. The class then discusses the essential questions and previews the Then and Now Expo artifacts: paired visuals, captions, and an evidence-hunt card. Teams finish by naming one WWII example and one modern message they are most interested in investigating further.
