Students will launch the Weather Watchers project by rotating through weather stations, making real-world observations, sorting weather and clothing clues, asking questions about forecasts and safety, and beginning the class weather data routine they will use in later days.

Students will examine sample weather records, ask investigable questions, choose a class weather question and prediction, and build a simple method for collecting, sorting, counting, and comparing daily weather evidence before using that plan in guided observations and safety-focused practice.

Students will share their weather evidence and safety learning with an authentic audience by presenting a short Weather Watcher video and class poster, comparing the week’s weather totals, demonstrating severe weather responses, and reflecting on how ready they feel to use weather information safely.
