Using the class anchor chart, pairs sort picture cards for rules, materials, math practice, fairness, and audience needs, then sketch a first game idea in a simple planning box with drawings, numerals, and manipulatives. An adult reviews each pair's plan against the anchor-chart expectations and asks students to show where their game includes counting or another math move and how a younger player would know what to do. Pairs revise one part of the sketch after the conference and place a sticker on the checkpoint chart when all required parts are present.
