📜 Scriptoria Spark Image Walk

Students examine 3–4 illuminated manuscript initials in a fast gallery walk, then use image cards in pairs to name visual evidence with art vocabulary: contrast, symmetry, repetition, color, pattern, and symbolism. The class briefly surfaces what viewers notice first and how those choices shape meaning, then students sketch the first letter of their name with one personal symbol and label one design choice in English plus one home-language word or phrase if they know one. Students trade sketches, give feedback to 2 peers on readability and meaning, receive feedback, and make one visible revision before sharing project expectations for the mounted initial and artist statement.
