Empathize
Students will launch the Planet Travel Brochure project by connecting with real potential space tourists, conducting live interviews, and creating an evidence-based empathy map and draft persona grounded in direct quotes and observations.
Day 1
Define
Students will synthesize their space tourist interview data into patterns and insights, then craft a focused, evidence-based "How Might We" problem statement that defines the design direction for their Planet Travel Expo booth and prototype brochure.
Day 2
Ideate
Students will generate a wide range of user-centered solutions for their Planetary Travel Expo booth and brochure concepts, moving from divergent brainstorming to evidence-based convergence grounded in real interview data and planetary science constraints.
Day 3
Prototype
Students will build and refine a testable prototype of their planet travel brochure and interactive booth concept, using real user feedback and scientific data to improve clarity, persuasiveness, and accuracy before final testing and presentation.
Day 4
Test/Present
Students will validate their refined Planetary Travel Expo booths and prototype brochures with a new user, analyze feedback for final improvements, and present a design story that traces their work from user research to final iteration during a stakeholder presentation.
