Students will explore how art communicates stories by observing real artwork, learning core art concepts, and gathering empathy data from authentic viewers. Through interviews, observation, and reflection, they will begin to understand how audience feelings and experiences shape artistic choices.

Define
Students will synthesize what they learned from studying the school mural and community artwork to define a clear problem statement about how to tell their own stories through art. They will identify audience needs, name specific art elements they will use, and create a simple design brief that guides their future artwork and persuasive writing.

Ideate
Students will generate many possible ways to tell their personal stories through art by experimenting with line, shape, color, and medium, sketching multiple concepts, gathering peer feedback, and selecting one strong idea to move into prototyping based on audience needs.
Days 7 - 10
Test/Present
Test/Present
Students will test their final art pieces and persuasive letters with authentic audiences, revise based on user feedback, and present their work in a community art gallery-style exhibition. They will reflect on how their artistic choices communicate their personal stories and evaluate their growth as artists and communicators.
