You will spend time at the San Diego Humane Society engaging with animal care professionals to understand the essential qualities and skills necessary for providing compassionate and effective support to animals in need, while establishing your own goals for the internship.

You will synthesize the insights gathered from your initial research and experiences with the San Diego Humane Society to formulate a clear and actionable problem statement that will drive your project forward.

You will brainstorm multiple ways to enhance the care and support of animals at the shelter, including developing creative solutions to improve their well-being, and collaborate with your mentor to refine and evaluate these ideas.

You will develop and refine low-fidelity prototypes of solutions for improving animal care practices at the shelter, test these prototypes with staff and stakeholders for feedback, and iterate based on insights gathered.

You will showcase your experiences and acquired skills by hosting a community exhibition, displaying photos, sharing personal stories, and reflecting on your journey through blog entries, all while engaging stakeholders in discussions on the impact of effective animal care.
