Learning Goals
Students will be able to explain how sensory receptors detect fear-related stimuli and send messages to the brain that contribute to immediate behavior, body responses, or stored memories.
Students will be able to analyze anonymized fear-frequency and physiological data using appropriate graphs, frequencies, mean, median, mode, and variability to identify patterns and anomalies.
Students will be able to compare evidence from a class investigation, numerical data, multimedia, and scientific texts to draw warranted conclusions about how fear affects internal body systems.
Students will be able to revise and communicate an evidence-based fear-response claim, data visualization, and body-system explanation in response to peer, teacher, and community-partner feedback.

Fear-Response Investigation Notebook and Evidence Reflection
Each student documents the investigation question, method, anonymized data, statistical analysis, source comparisons, graph revisions, and an individual explanation of why fear affects internal body systems. The notebook also records how evidence and feedback changed the student’s claim and interpretation.
Fear-Frequency Science-Board Poster and Evidence Presentation
Teams synthesize members’ findings into a revised science-board poster featuring statistical graphs, patterns and anomalies, a sensory-receptor-to-brain explanation, source comparisons, conclusions, limitations, and new questions. During the “Me, Myself, and I” poster session, teams defend their conclusions with evidence and respond empathetically to peer and community-partner questions.
