Launch
Launch
Students will launch an inquiry into carrying capacity by interpreting habitat evidence, constructing an initial population representation, consulting a conservation educator, and refining questions for their Species Survival Summit case study.
Days 1 - 2
Research & Plan
Research & Plan
Students will narrow an authentic carrying-capacity question, consult a conservation educator, evaluate sources, build an initial population model, and pass a peer-reviewed investigation-planning checkpoint.
Days 3 - 8
Collect Evidence
Collect Evidence
Students will systematically collect, document, and audit population, habitat, environmental-change, and group-behavior evidence, producing a traceable evidence set that is sufficient for later analysis and case-study development.
Days 9 - 13
Analyze & Revise
Analyze & Revise
Students will interpret population and habitat evidence, test competing explanations, revise mathematical or computational models, and defend a habitat-support claim. They will complete an individual case-study brief, refine a team presentation through peer and community-partner critique, and prepare for the Species Survival Summit.
Days 14 - 18
Showcase
Showcase
Students will finalize, present, and defend an evidence-based carrying-capacity case study to community guests, then reflect on their scientific learning and collaborative growth.
