Students will investigate schoolyard bird habitat, compare contrasting birdhouse designs, and create a shared design brief that establishes measurable criteria and realistic constraints before construction begins.

Students will compare annotated birdhouse concepts, select a design with a weighted decision matrix, construct a modular prototype, and use quantitative test data and peer feedback to revise it for improved performance.

Students will present, defend, and reflect on their tested and revised birdhouse designs during a culminating design expo.
