Learning Goals
Students will be able to define measurable criteria and safety constraints for a low-force web shooter prototype using range, accuracy, and consistency as performance measures.
Students will be able to evaluate research from several sources and annotated design concepts to justify a safe prototype plan and a simple collaboratively developed data program.
Students will be able to test and optimize a web shooter prototype by measuring range, accuracy, and consistency and using trial data and partner feedback to make design changes.
Students will be able to communicate a technology-published explanation of how their prototype works, how evidence informed revisions, and how inclusive teamwork supported the design process.

Individual Engineering Build Journal and Technical Explanation
Each student publishes a digital journal with a focused research question, notes from several sources, multiple annotated concepts, criteria and constraints, personal trial-data analysis, revision reasoning, and a reflection on feedback, collaboration, and frustration. The journal includes an individual explanation of the team’s simple data program and how the final low-force prototype works safely.
Safe Web Shooter Prototype and Showcase Demonstration
Each team collaboratively develops, programs or constructs, tests, and revises a low-force prototype that launches only teacher-approved soft projectiles toward fixed targets in a controlled area, never toward people. At the showcase, the team demonstrates the prototype and presents a concise Canva-supported explanation of its research, test data, design trade-offs, revisions, limitations, and inclusive collaboration process.
