Learning Goals
Student will be able to investigate how customers, sales, staffing, inventory, suppliers, and operating expenses interact within a business.
Student will be able to create algebraic models for fixed costs, variable costs, revenue, profit, cash flow, and inventory in a student-run business.
Student will be able to analyze tables, equations, and graphs to determine break-even points and explain how changes in price, sales volume, expenses, staffing, or inventory affect business performance.
Student will be able to evaluate operational and pricing options by comparing customer needs, profit potential, resource constraints, and financial risk.
Student will be able to refine a business operations model by comparing predicted and actual or simulated sales, costs, cash flow, and inventory data and documenting evidence-based revisions.
Student will be able to justify a feasible business recommendation using algebraic evidence, customer feedback, operating assumptions, risks, assigned responsibilities, and an implementation timeline.

Inside-the-Business Operations and Algebra Portfolio
Each student maps how a business works internally and develops models for costs, revenue, profit, cash flow, staffing, and inventory. The portfolio includes customer evidence, equations, tables, graphs, break-even analysis, sensitivity testing, and an individual concept prototype with documented revisions.
Student-Run Business Operations Pilot and Management Pitch
Each Student combine individual findings into a shared business problem statement, operating plan, and testable pop-up business prototype, then conduct a small-scale or simulated pilot. They use results to refine pricing, finances, inventory, staffing, responsibilities, and timelines before presenting their recommendation to stakeholders.
