Students will launch their school tree investigation by safely comparing a sunny place with a tree-shaded place, recording picture evidence, examining visible tree features, and asking questions about where more shade may be needed.

Students will develop a shared investigation question, practice safe ways to observe trees and shade, compare picture-based data-collection methods, and create a feedback-informed plan for investigating where additional trees could cool the school.

Students will safely repeat schoolyard observations, collect visual evidence about sun, shade, trees, and tree health, and compare findings on a shared map. They will use feedback to clarify their picture-and-mark data before moving into solution design.

Students will interpret their picture-and-mark evidence, seek feedback on a cooling-spot proposal, revise the class tree products, and practice sharing an evidence-based conclusion and tree-care idea.

Students will rehearse, revise, and share evidence about tree shade, tree health, and the school cooling solution through a brief, play-based community celebration walk.
