Students will launch the investigation by examining anonymous beach evidence, generating initial claim-evidence-reasoning ideas, and practicing how to document observations and ask investigable questions before fieldwork.

Students will investigate anonymous evidence from two beach locations, refine a focused question, test possible explanations, and build the field tools they will need for later data collection and analysis.

Students will collect traceable field evidence from two beach sites, check the quality of their data, revise their investigation choices when needed, and prepare complete logs and draft evidence-board pieces for later analysis.

Students will analyze field evidence from two beach sites, turn raw observations into graphs and comparison displays, write and revise CER explanations, strengthen their mystery-beach evidence boards through a data clinic, and complete a town-hall style rehearsal that checks readiness for the final public presentation.

Students will present their mystery-beach findings to an authentic audience, defend their evidence-based explanations about environmental conditions and environmental justice, and reflect on how their investigation informs community action.
