Students will be able to observe and compare how wind and water move soil, sand, and rocks in simple tray tests.

Erosion Design Notebook with Sketches, Test Records, and Revision Notes
Each student creates a notebook showing two or more design ideas, labeled sketches, before-and-after drawings or photos from tests, and a short explanation of which materials helped slow erosion best. The notebook proves individual understanding of erosion, landforms, testing, and design decisions.
Mini Erosion-Control Model for a San Diego Slope, Yard, or Beach
Teams build and revise a small erosion-control model using soil, plants, mulch, rocks, and ground cover, then test it with wind and water and present the results to classmates. The model must show evidence of at least one revision based on test data and include a simple explanation of how it works.
