Students will launch the project by joining the principal for a campus bloom walk, noticing who uses school spaces and what those spaces need, and capturing first observations that will guide later maps, plant choices, writing, and redesign work.

Students will observe current campus spaces, gather evidence with photos, drawings, counts, and measurements, learn what native plants need, and build a cross-grade empathy artifact that captures community needs, questions, and early beautification ideas before planning begins.

Students will turn campus observations into a shared design brief, create and test low-fidelity beautification prototypes, revise their maps and writing with feedback, and complete a plan-in-progress for the showcase.

Students will present their final campus beautification work to families, staff, and community partners, explain how feedback shaped their choices, and document how Bertrand’s people, places, and values are reflected in their maps, photo boards, planted areas, and reflection display.
