Engineering Design Notebook and Decision Matrix for a Disaster-Resilient Community System
Each student creates an original design notebook with at least two solution concepts, annotated sketches, a simple decision matrix, and a written justification for the best option. The notebook proves individual understanding of the problem, criteria and constraints, and evidence-based design choices.
Revised Disaster-Resilient Prototype and Evidence-Based Design Pitch
Teams build and test one functional prototype or working system, revise it at least once using data, and present how it meets the agreed-upon criteria and constraints. The pitch explains performance results, trade-offs, limitations, and how the final design reflects the best ideas from individual notebooks.
