Students will launch the dream school challenge by listening to key ideas from If I Built a School, naming useful school spaces and features, and sketching one bird’s-eye-view design idea they may develop in later phases.

Students will analyze school design ideas from stories and real examples, define a clear dream school problem with criteria and constraints, sketch multiple bird's-eye concepts, and prepare a simple evidence-based plan for testing stability and space use before building.

Students will compare design ideas with a simple weighted decision matrix, choose a team plan based on criteria and constraints, build and test a rapid prototype, revise after peer and teacher feedback, and document evidence that prepares them for the final exhibition phase.

Students will present their revised dream school prototypes and design evidence to families and library partners, explain how feedback and testing improved their work, and record a short technology-based reflection that documents learning for teachers and families.
