In small groups, students use beads, clay, or paper circles to build a first-draft atom and one simple molecule model, then label protons, neutrons, electrons, and the molecule name on index cards. Students give feedback to 2 peers, receive feedback, and revise using a checklist focused on particle counts, placement, and clarity. The period ends with a short individual model check in the notebook that verifies whether students can identify the nucleus, electron location, and correct particle counts for one assigned atom.
