🧩 Math Mystery Method Sprint

Modeling Using models Checking results Using algorithms Expressing equivalencies NC.8.NS.1 NC.8.NS.2 Submission Required Grading Required

Small groups work through a short clue set using mini-whiteboards, clue cards, and a shared evidence planner. They classify decimals as rational or irrational, justify one exponent equivalency, convert one large or small quantity into scientific notation, and estimate a square or cube root tied to a measurement clue. Each group then drafts one focused investigation question, a hypothesis about when an exact value or approximation is more useful, and a step-by-step evidence checklist for the Investigation Notebook and team report. Groups give feedback to 2 peers, receive feedback, and revise their method plan before submitting it.
