Students read and compare a small teacher-curated set of primary and secondary sources about Loyalists, Patriots, slavery in New York, and promises of freedom during the Revolution. They use a sourcing routine to note who created each source, what is emphasized, and what may be missing. The lesson introduces simple credibility checks and how point of view changes the story told.
