🖼️ Murals That Last or Fail

Students move through a rapid gallery walk of historic frescoes and local murals, using sticky notes to mark visible evidence of cracking, fading, peeling, saturation, and surface stability. The teacher then demonstrates pigment or ink applied into wet plaster versus a binder on a non-plaster surface so students can compare immediate material behavior. Students close by sorting their observations into possible chemical, physical, and environmental causes and recording at least one testable question in their Fresco Materials Investigation Notebook.
