Students sketch three distinct circular solutions for their chosen problem, then calculate key measures for each option in an engineering notebook: radius/diameter, arc length or sector area, at least one degree-to-radian conversion, and any needed cylinder or related volume estimate. Teams use a weighted decision matrix to compare performance against criteria and constraints, then complete a peer feedback round where each student gives feedback to 2 peers, receives feedback, and revises one concept before the team selects a build plan. The teacher reviews the chosen concept, matrix, and revised calculations as a progression gate before materials are issued.
