🔎 Plant Needs and Name Clues

Content Expertise Self Directed Learning Critical Thinking & Problem Solving 5-LS1-1 ESS.3.A LS.4.D Submission Required

Students rotate through hands-on stations with sample leaves, seeds, roots, plant tags, and photo cards to learn what plants need to grow and how scientific names and visible morphology help with plant selection. The teacher models vocabulary such as morphology, species, habitat, moisture, and adaptation, then students sort plants by traits and decode simple scientific name parts from a scaffolded word bank. Each student adds a labeled notebook page connecting one possible garden plant to air, water, sunlight, and site conditions.
