Through short mini-lessons and guided stations, students analyze how plants get materials chiefly from air and water, then connect those ideas to likely garden placement. They examine sample plant tags or cards with common and scientific names, break down familiar morphology clues in the names, and group plants by visible traits and environmental needs. Students complete a simple plant selection organizer that links one possible plant to one themed garden area and explains why that match fits the site evidence.
