#	What teachers do
1	Launch the revision focus by reminding teams to use gallery walk feedback to make their podcast message clearer for a school audience. Briefly review the goals for today: improve the problem statement, strengthen evidence, sharpen the call to action, and show before-and-after changes. (5 min)
2	Have teams reread their sticky-note feedback and sort comments into three categories: clear message, evidence, and action steps. Ask students to circle 2-3 changes they will make first and record them on a simple revision plan. (8 min)
3	Guide teams to revise their podcast script and campaign visual together. Students should highlight changed lines or add notes that explain what they changed and why, using evidence from their research to support their message. (15 min)
4	Meet with each team for a short teacher conference while other teams continue revising. During the conference, ask teams to read their updated problem statement and call to action aloud and explain how their revision answers the question of how the school community can help people, plants, and animals. (10 min)
5	Bring the class together for a quick revision reflection. Each team shares one change they made, names which feedback helped them most, and states one next step to get their podcast draft ready for recording. (7 min)

Prepare each team's draft script, campaign visual, and collected sticky-note feedback from the gallery walk in one folder or tray.
Create a simple revision plan sheet with spaces for: feedback received, changes to make, evidence to add, and revised call to action.
Gather highlighters, pencils, colored pens, sticky notes, and clipboards or folders so students can mark before-and-after revisions clearly.
Prepare a short teacher conference checklist with the look-fors: clear problem statement, at least one supporting fact or example, specific school action, and evidence of revision.
Post sentence starters for discussion such as: "We changed... because..." "Our evidence shows..." and "Our school community can..."
Plan conference order in advance so all teams know when to meet with you and what to do while waiting.
Prepare support copies with larger print, key vocabulary, or partially highlighted feedback for students who need reading support.

Student-facing instructions

Today you will use the feedback from the gallery walk to improve your team's podcast script and campaign message. First, you will read your sticky-note feedback and decide which suggestions will help make your message clearer, stronger, and more useful for your school community. Then you will revise your script and visual by changing unclear parts, adding evidence, and making your call to action more specific. You will highlight or label the parts you changed so you can show before-and-after evidence. When your team meets with the teacher, you will read your updated problem statement and call to action aloud, explain how your changes help answer the essential question, and name your next step before recording. You will need your draft script, campaign visual, feedback notes, revision plan sheet, and writing tools.

Success criteria

Your team is successful when: you used gallery walk feedback to make at least 2 meaningful changes; your revised script includes a clear problem statement about an environmental issue; your script includes at least 1 fact, example, or research detail to support your message; your call to action tells the school community exactly what they can do; your team highlighted or labeled changed parts to show before-and-after revision; and your team can explain how your updated message helps people, plants, and animals. You can also say which feedback helped you most and what you still need to finish before recording.

Facilitator notes

Keep the opening brief so most of the time is spent revising and conferencing. Since this is the final activity in the critique phase, push teams to make concrete improvements rather than only correcting small spelling errors. For students with varying reading levels, read sticky-note feedback aloud, provide color-coded categories, and offer sentence starters or a partially completed revision plan. Encourage shared team roles such as reader, evidence checker, recorder, and speaker so all students participate. Common pitfalls include vague calls to action like "help the Earth" and unsupported claims without facts; prompt students to be specific with actions such as recycling in classrooms, saving water, or joining a school clean-up. If teams struggle to connect revisions to the essential question, ask: "What should students at our school do after hearing your podcast?" and "How will that action help living things?" During conferences, use the checklist quickly and note which teams are ready for production and which need one final fix before moving on.
