Students will launch the project by analyzing everyday disagreements, practicing circle norms and restorative listening moves with a community partner, and comparing a conflict moment from Romeo and Juliet with a performed version so they can begin designing human-centered responses to conflict.

Students will gather and analyze direct evidence about how ninth graders experience disagreement, compare conflict choices across text and performance, and build an empathy-based planning foundation before drafting any scene solutions.

Students will synthesize peer and counselor research into a focused design brief, generate multiple dramatized conflict-response concepts, critique and revise those concepts through structured discussion, and select one evidence-based direction for the next phase of scene prototyping.

Students will build and test low-fidelity before-and-after conflict scenes, use counselor-led mini circles and peer critique to gather evidence about listening, tone, and clarity, and complete two documented revision cycles that connect scene changes to user needs and performance choices.

Students will refine their dramatized conflict scene collection and response strategy materials through final testing, feedback, and revision, then present a clear design story that connects Romeo and Juliet analysis, community-circle evidence, and restorative choices to their performable prototype.

Students will present their finalized before-and-after conflict scenes and response strategy posters to an authentic audience, participate in a restorative discussion with guests, and document how their analysis of Romeo and Juliet, performance choices, and feedback cycles shaped their final design decisions and next steps.
